About Us

The iPlan architectural design company was an idea that grew out of comments made by a crowd of friends sitting around after a good meal and a few glasses of wine in our house Cambrian Cottage, which I had designed and built in 2000.

The general theme of the discussion went along the lines of: "This is a nice house, don't you think other people would like one too?"

After studying architecture at the Architectural Association School in London followed by about 25 years working in other peoples' practices, I ended up as a project manager for fast track building programmes for corporate clients. It was a long way from where I wanted to be.

Two years ago, I took voluntary redundancy and set up iPlan ltd. It is currently a one-man band (assisted by great technology) based in Ely, Cambridgeshire.

My interests lie in solving problems and, wherever possible, making things beautiful. I am inspired by the creative ideas that my clients generate.
